It’s been another long gap, but here goes another blog post, again, from the last year’s trip to Taiwan. I had more photos from a more recent Taiwan trip to share with you, but I couldn’t possibly do that without posting this one from the popular destination of Jiu Fen in the northern Taiwan.
The hillside community is very popular to visitors. During the business hours, its streets are packed with tourists carrying cameras. Sure, I am one with cameras, too, but it was a good idea I booked an accommodation. It got much easier to photograph late and also early in the morning.
Many website makes reference to one of Studio Ghibli films and call this the source of the creator’s inspiration. He clearly denied it in one of the interviews. I enjoyed the light coming through the fog, making everything look less saturated, almost timeless.
Some people stop by for a couple of hours and go on. But there is definitely a different face to the town if you stayed over night. A train ride from Taipei to the nearby town of Ruifen will get you only a short local bus ride to Jiu Fen. There are also buses from Taipei. I took a bus from Keelung where I stayed the night before.
